SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 9, 2025) — Howard University women's soccer team (6-0-2, NEC 4-0-1) extended its winning streak to four matches Thursday afternoon, defeating Le Moyne College (0-10-3, NEC 0-3-2), 1–0, at Ted Grant Field.
Sophomore transfer
Demi Owens (Teaneck, N.J.) continued to make an immediate impact in her first season with the Bison, scoring the game's only goal in the 12
th minute. Owens' unassisted strike — her third of the year — proved to be the difference as Howard controlled the match from start-to-finish.
Howard dictated the tempo throughout, outshooting the Dolphins, 18–5, while holding them to just two shots in the second half. Nine different Bison recorded shot attempts, led by
Samantha James (Herndon, Va.) with four shots, including one on target.
The Bison defense was dominant, allowing only one shot on goal compared to Howard's seven. In her return to the box,
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) picked up the win, making one save to preserve the shutout.
Howard returns to action Sunday (Oct. 12) at 1 p.m., when it hosts Stonehill College for its Goalie Savings Day match.
