ANNAPOLIS, Md. (September 29, 2024) – Howard University women's golf team earned third place at the Navy Fall Invitational, hosted by the Mids. The two-day, 36-hole event took place at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club (par-72, 6,084 yards) in Annapolis, Md.
Overall, HU shot 33-over par (609) with four Bison placing in the top 35.
Third-year Bison
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) led the way, shooting 149 (+5) in 36 holes of action. The Los Angeles native tied for fifth overall in the player leaderboard.
All-NEC selection
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) finished 12
th after recording back-to-back 75 (+3) rounds.
Sophomore
Emily Mayne (Kingston, Jamaica) tied for 24
th place (155, +11) while fellow classmate
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) registered 13-over par (157), tying for 32
nd in the standings.
Navy won the event, posting a 592 (+16) in two days. Emma Tang led the Mids, winning the individual medal with a two-under par (142) performance.
On Oct. 14-16, HU travels across the pond to Scotland for the St. Andrews Link Collegiate.
