WASHINGTON (September 26, 2024) – Howard University women's soccer team grabbed its first Northeast Conference (NEC) win of the season, defeating Le Moyne, 1-0, at Greene Stadium.
Freshman standout
Gabriella Garcia-Terrell (Centreville, Va.) scored the lone unassisted goal at the 57-minute mark.
HU turned up the intensity after a stalemate first half, outshooting Le Moyne (1-10, 0-2 NEC) 17-3 after intermission.
Sophomore goalie
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) posted a three-save shutout in the victory.
Mikayla McPherson battled for the Dolphins, racking up eight saves on 20 shot attempts, including nine on target, in a losing effort.
On Sept. 29, Howard (2-4-4, 1-1 NEC) hosts Chicago State. Kickoff at noon inside Greene Stadium.
