WASHINGTON (September 25, 2024) – Howard University women's soccer team will be hosting its conference home opener at Greene Stadium Thursday (Sept. 26), facing the Le Moyne College Dolphins for Organization Day. Match will kick off at 1 p.m.

HOWARD
Howard's (1-4-4, 0-1 NEC) previous game ended in a loss, 3-0, versus Stonehill. After rest, the Bison will be coming into this match ready to crack their first league win of the season.

Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.) and two-time Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week
Mimi Richards (Silver Spring, Md.) led the charge with three shots apiece. Junior
Asia Mickens-Perez (Upper Marlboro, Md.) and senior
Zoe Moore (Lutz, Fla.) collected two shots each.
Sophomore goalie
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) ended the afternoon with three saves.
The Bison were picked to finish third in the preseason, led by longtime head coach
Brent Leiba, who is in his 15
th year.
LE MOYNE
In their last match, the Dolphins were defeated in their first conference game of the season against the Mercyhurst Lakers, 3-0.
The Dolphins made two changes to their starting lineup with freshman goalkeeper Mikayla McPheron and fifth-year Jenicah Brown making their return. The sophomore midfielder Giovanna Vigliotti made six shot attempts against Mercyhurst.
The Dolphins were projected to finish eighth in the NEC, led by head coach Jaro Zawislan and Assistant Brooke Barnes.
LAST TIMEOUT
Howard fell in its conference opener at Stonehill College (SC). HU outshot the Skyhawks, 13-8, but unable to get on the board.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Sept. 29, Howard hosts Chicago State. Kickoff at noon inside Greene Stadium.
