NEWARK, Del. (August 22, 2024) – Howard University men's soccer team fell in its season opener at Delaware (UD), 3-0.
Despite taking more corner kicks than the Blue Hens, 6-4, HU was unable to capitalize on its 10 shot attempts. Two-time All-NEC selection
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.) led the charge with four shots.
Nearly 20 minutes into the contest, UD's Carlos Fernandez found Marius Stenner and gave the Blue Hens a 1-0 advantage.
Eight minutes later, Stenner scored his second goal of the match before intermission, thanks to an assist from Jan Schroeder, 2-0.
In the second half, Schroeder recorded his second assists of the day after setting up Sam Donnellan for the squad's third score, 3-0.

Jackson Lewis (Alexandria, Va.) took a pair of shot attempts in the loss.
Howard continues its road swing in Baltimore, facing UMBC in nonconference action. Match time is set for 7:30 p.m.
