Quinton Williams (Upper Marlboro, Md.) for a quick Q & A session.
Q: What is your favorite part about football?
A: My favorite part about playing football is the comradery you get from playing those long seasons, going through tough practices and building a great bond with my teammates.
Q: How did you get started in football?
A: I started playing football when I was five years old. My uncle was my first coach for our flag football team. I played wide receiver growing up, that was my first position before transitioning to quarterback.
Q: What kept you motivated?
A: Just my love for the game. I enjoyed playing the game, being around my peers and trying to the bring the best out of the team.
Q: If you were not competing in football, what other sport would you do?
A: I would definitely be playing basketball, I am a hooper at heart. I enjoy hooping to this day.
Q: Who is your favorite athlete? How have they motivated you?
A: My all-time favorite athletes are
Tom Brady (NFL Super Bowl Champion) and
Lebron James (NBA Champion). They are two of the greatest of all time but I am most impressed by their ability to sustain greatness for such a long time.
Q: What's your most memorable Howard experience?
A: My most fond moments are winning back-to-back MEAC Championships. Just seeing all the support from the community was just a great experience.
Q: What are your plans post-graduation?
A: My plan for the future right now is to continue my football career at the professional level.
Q: What or who will you miss at Howard?
A: Honestly, I will miss my teammates and the Howard community for how much love they showed me.
Q: What advice would you give future Bison?
A: I would tell them to run their race because everybody's path will not be the same, so find out how you can make a name for yourself by doing your own things.
Q: Who would you like to thank?
A: I want to thank the entire Howard community for embracing me as a true freshman. From coaches to Mr.
Kery Davis (Howard Director of Athletics) and the athletics department for a lifetime of memories over the years, I am forever grateful.
