WASHINGTON (April 20, 2024) – Le Moyne College (LMC) used a second-half charge to down the Howard University women's lacrosse team, 17-2, at Greene Stadium.
LMC (9-7, 8-2 NEC) outscored the Bison after intermission, 8-0.
Le Moyne jumped out to an early 2-0 lead until rookie
Chloe Ronsholdt (Stafford, Va.) got HU on the board with an unassisted goal, 2-1. LMC added another score to take a 3-1 advantage after one.
In the second period, Le Moyne extended its lead with two more goals, 5-1, until second-year Bison
Chase Coleman (Houston) found the back of the cage to trim the margin, 5-2.
From that point, LMC regained the momentum and closed the half with four unanswered goals, 9-2.
Freshman
Cecilia Vitti (Detroit) registered four draw controls and three ground balls.
Defensively, junior
Logan Ford (Charlotte, N.C.) recorded seven saves and defender
Taylor Worsham (Severn, Md.) scooped up three ground balls in a losing effort. Both played their final match at Greene Stadium.
For the Dolphins, Grace Detor produced five goals and two ground balls in the victory.
Wednesday (April 24), HU goes to Saint Francis in its season finale. Match time is set for 2 p.m., at DeGol Field in Loretto, Pa., and can be seen on NEC Front Row.
