PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (April 20, 2024) – Howard University women's golf team moved into second place after round two of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship, held at the Callaway Garden Resort (par-70, 6,050 yards) in Pine Mountain, Ga.
On Day Two, HU shot 22-over par (302). After 36 holes of action, the Bison are 37-over par (597).
Sophomores
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) and
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) are tied for seventh in the player leaderboard. Currently, both Bison are sitting 7-over par (147) after two rounds of play.
Georgia native junior
Jada Richardson (Suwanee) and rookie
Emily Mayne (Kingston, Jamaica) are 12-over par (152) after Day Two, tying for 16
th overall.
All-NEC selection junior
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) rounded out the top 20, shooting 6-over par (76) in round two with two birdies. Currently, the Texas product sits tied for 19
th (153, +13) with one round remaining.
Sacred Heart holds the top spot for the second day in a row, posting a 288 (+8) in round two. Overall, the Pioneers are 10-over par (570).
Chantal El Chaib spearheads the reigning NEC Champion Pioneers, shooting 5-under par (135) in 36 holes of action. Teammates Margot Rouqette and Kailee Welch stand in second (141, +1) and third (142, +2), respectively.
Sunday (April 21), HU plays the third and final round of the NEC Championship. The action starts at 10 a.m.
