WASHINGTON (March 23, 2024) – Howard Lacrosse was rained out, 17-1, by the Pioneers of Sacred Heart (3-5) Saturday afternoon.
The feat moves the Bison to 0-10 on the season and 0-4 in conference.
The Pioneers opened the scoring just 45 seconds into regulation. The goal marked the beginning of the crusade where they tacked on six more points before the Bison broke it up in the first.
Sophomore attacker
Chase Coleman (Houston) put the Bison on the board with less than a minute left in the first quarter when she whizzed around a defender and connected with the goal.
The Pioneers managed one more goal before closing the frame, going into the second quarter with an 8-1 lead.
The Bison defense came out of the break revived, holding Sacred Heart (SHU) to just four goals in the second quarter.
HU kicked it up a notch after the half, keeping the Pioneers at bay for most of the third while allowing Sacred Heart to get off four shots and posting only two points.
SHU closed it out with three more goals for a 17-1 finish.
Howard lacrosse is back in action Wednesday, March 27, when they face Delaware State on the road at 5 p.m.
