Marley Rhymes Leads Charge With Hat Trick

Bison fall 22-10 to Skyhawks

WASHINGTON - The Bison (0-15, NEC 0-8) posted their highest score of the season Saturday afternoon in a 22-10 loss to the Stonehill Skyhawks.

HU kept Stonehill at bay the first few minutes until the Skyhawks broke out with three quick goals for a 3-0 lead. The Bison retaliated with two goals of their own with transfer Marley Rhymes (Coatesville, Pa.) bringing the Bison within one, 3-2.

The first quarter saw heavy scoring as Chase Coleman (Houston, Texas) posted two for the Bison and the Skyhawks finished with a 9-4 advantage.

The second quarter was slower paced seeing a 6-3 run of action with Quai Skeete-Ridley (New Carrollton, Md.), Mikayla Mack (Bowie, Md.), and Maya Rhymes (Coatesville, Pa.) notching points for the Bison, 15-7. Mack highlighted the frame posting her second and final unassisted goal.

Skeete-Ridley opened the scoring in the third frame with an unassisted shot to the net. Marley Rhymes continued to close the gap less than two minutes later for a 15-9 board.

The Skyhawks went on an unanswered four-point run to close the third with a 19-9 lead to run the clock in the final quarter.

The Skyhawks tacked on three more goals in the fourth before Marley Rhymes closed it out with a hat trick to end the day with the Bison's highest score of the season, 22-10.

The matchup saw 15 penalties allowing the Bison to gain three points when man up.

Junior Marley Rhymes marked her first hat trick as a Bison. Fellow junior Logan Ford faced 38 shots making six saves throughout the full sixty minutes.

The Bison return to action on Wednesday, March 6th at 1:30 PM when they face Central Connecticut on the road.
