TOWSON, Md. & TAMPA, Fla. (March 16, 2024) – Howard University men's track & field team opened the outdoor season with solid outings at the USF Alumni Invitational, hosted by South Florida (USF), and the Towson Spring Opener, hosted by the Tigers.
TOWSON SPRING OPENER
Graduate
Danree Delancey (Bethel Town, Westmoreland) highlighted the weekend, winning the shot put. The Westmoreland native tossed 16.18 meters (53'1").
Other notable performances in the field included second-year Bison
Andre Prince (Windsor, Conn.) taking fourth overall in the hammer, throwing over 152 feet (46.38 meters).
USF ALUMNI INVITE
Graduate
Samuel Bennett (Langdon Hills, United Kingdom) and senior
Zachary Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) competed in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing second (13.72) and fourth (13.83), respectively.
Other noteworthy effort on the track included senior
Noah Langford (Portsmouth, Va.) claiming third in the 400-meter hurdle with a 52.15 mark.
In the field, juniors
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) and
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) represented Bison Nation in the triple jump, earning second (15.25 meters) and seventh (13.48 meters), respectively. Fisher also took part in the long jump, leaping 7.17 meters (23'6.25").
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On March 22-23, HU goes to High Point, N.C., for the Bob Davidson Team Challenge, hosted by the High Point Panthers.
