PHILADELPHIA (March 15, 2024) – Howard University men's tennis team grabbed its second straight road win of the season, knocking off Saint Joseph's (5-7), 4-2, at the SJU Tennis Complex in Philly.
HU held the upper hand after winning two doubles matches.
All-MEAC selection senior
Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.) and newcomer
Michael Major, Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas) served as the club's top doubles team, edging out the Hawks' Othman Bezzaz and Ernesto Ruy, 7-6.
Third-year Bison
Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) and rookie
Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.) secured a 6-3 doubles victory over Saint Joe's' (SJU) Justus Agbo and Stergios Achilleas Papadeopoulos.
In singles competition, Lash, Major and senior
Hassimiyou Dieng (Dakar, Senegal) won their respective matches in straight sets.
On March 22-24, HU (3-6) travels to Cary, N.C., for the annual Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Round Up. Howard plays three contests in three days, starting with Norfolk State Friday (March 22) at 3 p.m.
