WASHINGTON (March 1, 2024) – All-MEAC selection
Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.) earned a pair of victories Friday afternoon, but the Howard University men's tennis team fell to crosstown rival Georgetown (GU), 5-2, at Yates Field House.
Cadeau tallied the lone point during singles competition, knocking off the Hoya's Adhvyte Sharma in three sets (6-3, 6-7, 6-3).
GU (8-3) won the other five singles matches in straight sets.
In doubles play, Cadeau joined rookie
Michael Major, Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas) and topped Georgetown's No. 1 doubles team of Kieran Foster and Zamaan Molendina, 7-5.
Seniors
Gabe Knowles (Allentown, Pa.) and
Hassimiyou Dieng (Dakar, Senegal) defeated the Hoya's Burke Pablo and Derek Raskopf, 6-4, and give the Bison an early match lead before singles play.
On March 5-6, Howard goes to Orlando, Fla., for its annual Spring Break rodeo. Tuesday (March 5), HU battles North Carolina A&T State at 6:30 p.m. The next day (March 6), the Bison take on undefeated Keiser at 11 a.m.
