PHILADELPHIA (February 24, 2024) – Howard University women's tennis team came up short on the road at Temple, falling to the Owls, 4-3, at Hecht Tennis Center in Philadelphia.
 
HU took the early match lead after winning two-out-of-three doubles play.
 
Junior 
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) and newcomer 
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) served as the club's top doubles team, edging out Temple's Samantha Nanere and Maiko Uchijima, 7-6.
 
Third-year Bison 
Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) and sophomore 
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) secured the match lead with an impressive 7-6 victory over the Owls' Jessie Zheng and Marianthi Christoforidou.
 
Stibbins and Pegram also grabbed singles wins.
 
Jean dropped a hard-fought three-set match to Christoforidou (5-7, 6-4, 3-6).
 
Temple won the other two singles contests in straight sets to down the Bison.
 
Howard returns to action during its annual Spring Break Rodeo in Orlando, Fla. Tuesday (March 5), HU takes on Bowling Green at 2:30 p.m. Next day (March 6), the Bison face Keiser.
