Track & Field Gears Up for the MEAC Indoor Championships

Bison look to bring home the hardware

WASHINGTON (February 17, 2024) - Howard University Men's and Women's Track & Field teams look to continue a strong run heading into the 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Championships. They will travel to Virginia Beach, Va., for this three-day event (Feb 18-20).

Tickets are available, championship passes start at $25. Fans can also find day passes, starting at $10. Tickets will be sold exclusively online.
 
MEET PREVIEW
 
With Howard women looking for a three-peat as indoor champs, this MEAC championship promises to be a good one.
 
This meet will get underway Sunday (Feb. 18) at 2 p.m., with the men's heptathlon. The first day will also include the men's and women's 5k finals. The women begin at 2:15 p.m., and the men at 2:40 p.m.
 
The men's heptathlon will kick off the second day, starting at 9 a.m., followed by the women. Medals will also be awarded for the men's and women's distance medley. The women's final begins at noon and the men at 12:20 p.m.
 
Day three is an exciting one with a schedule full of finals, starting at 9:30 a.m., with women's pole vault. Running events will begin at 12:30 p.m., with women's mile finals. The men's and women's 4x400 relay finals will wrap up the weekend. The women will begin at 3:40 p.m., and the men at 4 p.m.
 
Howard women look to continue their success while the men are seeking their first indoor crown since 1985.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
Both, the men and women, are coming off strong performances last week (Feb. 9-10) at the Wisconsin Windy City Invitational, hosted by the Badgers. They look to improve off that success as they gear up for the NCAA Indoor Championship.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
On March 1-3, the Bison will travel to Boston for the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships. This will be there last meet before the NCAA Indoor Championship, which begins March 8.
