WASHINGTON (February 16, 2024) – Howard University women's tennis team earned its second victory of the season, cruising past UDC, 6-1, at the WTEF – East Capitol Campus in southeast D.C.
Howard (2-4) took the early match lead, winning all three doubles matches.

Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) and newcomer
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) served as the club's top doubles team, knocking off UDC's Laura Marie and Lina Benjelloun, 6-3.
Junior
Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and rookie
Dana Hall (Miami) also won, 6-3, taking down UDC's Mariona Franco and Claudia Bahmon.
Third-year Bison
Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) and sophomore
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) edged out the Firebirds' Polina Zelensova and Celia Bastin, 7-6.
In singles competition, Stibbins represented Bison Nation in the No. 1 position with a straight set win over Marie (7-5, 6-3).
Hall, Jean, Pegram and freshman
Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) also won their respective singles matches in straight sets.
HU has a quick turnaround, facing Villanova Saturday (Feb. 17) afternoon at Watkins Tennis Bubble in Upper Marlboro, Md. Match time is slated for 1 p.m.
