CHICAGO (February 10, 2024) – Howard University women's track & field team put on a solid performance in its regular season finale, excelling at the Windy City Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The two-day event (Feb. 9-10) took place at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Indoor Track & Field Facility.
Graduate
Nyagoa Bayak (Westbrook, Mass.) grabbed the only victory in Chicago, winning the high jump at 1.79 meters.
On the track, graduates
Cathrina Morris (Auburndale, Fla.) and
Simone Watkins (Frisco, Texas) reached the 60-meter hurdles final, finishing second (8.34) and sixth (8.60), respectively.
Newcomer
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and sophomore
Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga.) competed in the 200-meter dash, earning third (24.29) and eighth (24.64), respectively.
Graduate
Kailei Collins (Houston) made the 60-meter dash final with a 7.43 time. In the final round, the Houston native took sixth overall (7.44).
On Feb. 18-20, HU heads to Virginia Beach, Va., for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
