UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (February 10, 2024) – Senior
Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.) earned his first singles win of the season, but Mount St. Mary's (MSM) topped the Howard University men's tennis squad, 4-1, at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, Md.
Cadeau served HU in the No. 3 position, defeating MSM's Marcel Cronin in straight sets (6-2, 7-5).
Fellow classmate
Hassimiyou Dieng (Dakar, Senegal) won game one, 7-6, and led, 3-2, in set two, but unable to finish as Mount St. Mary's won three other singles matches.
In doubles play, MSM grabbed the match lead after taking two-of-three.
All-MEAC selection junior
Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) and rookie
Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.) edged out The Mount's Ryan Wagner and Pablo Martinez Zuccardi, 7-5.
Scheduled for Feb. 16, the HU tennis program is set to compete against the University of the District of Columbia at WTEF-East Capitol Campus in D.C.
