BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (November 26, 2024) – The Northeast Conference (NEC) unveiled its swimming & diving weekly awards where Howard University saw a pair of Bison acknowledged for their outstanding performances. The announcement came Tuesday afternoon.
Seniors
Darin Johnson (Atascocita, Texas) and
Zay Swilley (Bradley, Ill.) won NEC Men's Co-Swimmer of the Week and Men's Diver of the Week, respectively.
On Nov. 16, Johnson won the 100 IM versus Mount St. Mary's, clocking in at a CSCAA B-cut time of 53.29, which ranks first in the conference. In that same meet, he finished runner-up in the 50 Breast with a CSCAA B-cut qualifying time of 25.66, which also tops the NEC. In Baltimore, the Texas native placed seventh overall in the 100 Breast at the H2ounds Invitational (Nov. 22-24) with a CSCAA B-cut qualifying time of 55.60.
For Swilley, he took part in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, placing second (281.55) and third (272.55), respectively.

Wagner's Adrian Moreno shared NEC Men's Swimmer of the Week with Johnson while fellow Seahawk Florian Schumich claimed Men's Rookie of the Week.
The Bison will be on a near month long break, returning Dec. 15 for the CSCAA Open Water Championship.
