BALTIMORE (November 24, 2024) – Howard University men's swimming & diving team earned third overall at the H2ounds Invitational, hosted by Loyola (Md.) in Baltimore.
Overall, the Bison tallied 1,680 points in three days (Nov. 22-24).
The 400 Free Relay squad of graduate
Tristan Stevens (Chicago), senior
Tai Afrik (Holland, Mich.), sophomore
Mason Green (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and newcomer
Ibrahima Diouf (Arlington, Va.) placed third overall, clocking in at 3:04.73.
Individually, Stevens and second-year Bison
Adam Diaz (Manhattan, N.Y.) represented HU in the 100 Back, earning second (48.61) and ninth (52.73), respectively.
Senior
Darin Johnson (Atascocita, Texas) and sophomore
Kristopher Lawson (Gaithersburg, Md.) competed in the 50 Free where they finished fifth (20.72) and ninth (21.43), respectively.
On the board, senior
Zay Swilley (Bradley, Ill.) took part in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, placing second (281.55) and third (272.55), respectively.
Loyola won the 2024 H2ounds Invite, scoring 3,975 points. John Hopkins finished runner-up after accumulating 2,055 points.
The Bison will be on a near month long break, returning Dec. 15 for the CSCAA Open Water Championship.
