WASHINGTON (November 21, 2024) – The Howard University women's & men's swimming and diving program heads to Baltimore for a showdown between John Hopkins, Mount St. Mary's and Loyola (Md.) at the annual H2ounds Invitational (Nov. 22-24), hosted by the Greyhounds.
Morning sessions begin at 10 a.m., followed by the evening sessions at 6 p.m.

MEET PREVIEW
HOWARD
The Bison look to build momentum from their dominant performance again Mount
St. Mary's (Nov. 16). The men won, 169-92, and the women won, 165-97.
MEN
Overall, the Bison won 11 races, including a pair of relays, against The Mount.
Sophomore
Kristopher Lawson (Gaithersburg, Md.) won in the 50 Back, 50 Free, and 50 Fly, individually.
WOMEN
In their first victory of the season, the women recorded 11 wins.
Individually, junior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) took home a pair of wins in the 100 Free and 200 Free races. Senior
Zaylie-Elizabeth Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) also won twice in the 100 Breast and 100 IM.
LOYOLA
The Greyhounds are returning from the FISU America Games (Nov. 5-7) with 22 total medals (nine gold, four silver and nine bronze).
Graduate student Lily Mead and sophomore Joe Hayburn led the team with three individual golds each.
Cameron Shinnick claimed three bronze medals in the 100 Fly, 200 Fly and 1500 Free.
Additionally, Caleb Kelly won gold in the 50 Free and silver in the 100 Free.
Harry Hearn won silver in the men's 200 Fly and Patrick Hayburn claimed silver in the 100 Fly and bronze in the 50 Free.
JOHN HOPKINS
The Blue Jays are returning from a weeklong break after their loss to the Georgetown Hoyas. The men lost, 86-175, and the women fell, 91-169.
MEN
Despite the loss, junior Bryce Lloyd had a standout performance by sweeping the Backstroke events.
Other key contributors were graduate student Jay Heymann, senior Eric Ji, juniors Avery Clapp and Christian Mayr, sophomores Rad Couture and Adam Sandid and freshmen Jack Cornish, Larkin Helman and Dylan Jewett.
WOMEN
Freshman Melissa Er led the team with two wins in the 100 Free and 200 Free.
Other key contributors were graduate student Nyah Stahl, seniors Michelle Liu, Taylor Rohovit and Meg Susil, junior Rachel Davis, sophomore Elizabeth Cohen and freshmen Kennedy Lee and Jaya Veerapaneni.
MOUNT ST. MARY'S
Mount St. Mary's and the Bison meet again for the second week in a row, but this time, only divers will compete.
UPCOMING SEASON
The Bison will be on a near month long break, returning Dec. 15 for the CSCAA Open Water Championship.
