WASHINGTON (October 31, 2024) – Howard University men's soccer team suffered its first home loss of the season, dropping a 1-0 decision to FDU in Northeast Conference (NEC) play at Greene Stadium.
HU had several opportunities to get on the board with four corner kicks in 45 minutes of play, but unable to capitalize.
Both squads took nine shots each after halftime, but Howard held the upper hand in corner kicks, 5-1.
Despite the Bison's aggressive play throughout, FDU (8-4-4, 4-2-1 NEC) delivered a match-winning goal at the 67-minute mark. Alex Kryazhev scored off a thrown in from Dominic Valenzula and gave the Knights a 1-0 match victory.
All-NEC selection senior
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.) led the Bison with four shot attempts.
Redshirt freshman
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) put HU in position to win, registering four incredible saves in a losing effort.
Sunday (Nov. 3), Howard will be hosting Mercyhurst at Greene Stadium. Kickoff at noon.
