PITTSBURGH (October 2, 2024) – Howard University men's soccer team scored within the first 20 minutes of action, but the No. 1 Pitt Panthers responded with seven unanswered goals, including six scores after intermission, to down the Bison, 8-1, in Pittsburgh.
Pitt (9-1) took the early lead after scoring on a penalty kick, 1-0, but the Bison answered with senior
Marcus Lewis (Toronto, Canada) tying the matchup, 1-1, thanks to an assist from fellow classmate
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.).
Moments later, Arnau Vilamitjana gave the Panthers a 2-1 halftime lead. From there, Pitt never looked back.
After intermission, the Panthers scored six unanswered goals to down HU, 8-1.
Redshirt freshman
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) battled, producing six saves in a losing effort.
On Oct. 6, Howard continues its road swing against the Stonehill College Skyhawks. The game will be played at Skyhawk field in North Easton, Mass. Kick off at 1p.m.
