DUNHAM, N.C. (October 16, 2024) – Howard University men's soccer team held No. 16 Duke scoreless after 45 minutes, but the Blue Devils responded with 10 goals in the second half to down HU, 10-0, in Durham, N.C.
Luke Thomas put Duke on the board moments after intermission and the Blue Devils never looked back.
In the final 41 minutes of play, Duke tallied 10 goals, led by Ulfur Bjornsson and Jose Ortega with a pair of scores each.
For HU, All-NEC selection senior forward
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.) led the Bison attack with two shot attempts. Graduate forward
Jackson Lewis (Alexandria, Va.) also took a shot in the loss.
Sophomore goalie
Ireal Wyze-Daly (Ontario, Canada) made his season debut in a reserve role, tallying four saves in 65 minutes.
Sunday (Oct. 20), Howard will be hosting the LIU Sharks at Greene Stadium. Kickoff will be at 3 p.m.
