LANDOVER, Md. (January 20, 2024) – Howard University men's track & field team traveled to nearby Landover, Md., and won the 2024 Robert Comstock Cardinal Classic, hosted by Catholic University.
HU edged out the host Cardinals, 114-101.5, with four first-place finishes.
Rookie
Jordan Good (Greensboro, N.C.), graduate
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) and sophomore
Andre McKinney, Jr. (Moreno Valley, Calif.) swept the 400-meter podium, earning first (50.99), second (51.66) and third (52.77), respectively.
Junior
Kaleb Berry (Duncanville, Texas) and second-year Bison
Kobe Hutson (Bridgetown, Barbados) competed in the 800-meter run, placing first (1:56.46) and third (1:59.65), respectively.
Junior
Eric Brown II (Raleigh, N.C.) claimed gold in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking in at 8.65.
Other noteworthy performance on the track included newcomer
Jayden Keels (Suitland, Md.) securing second overall in the mile run (4:33.04).
In the field, juniors
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) and
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) took first (7.21 meters) and second (6.88 meters), respectively, in the long jump.
Sophomore
Andre Prince (Windsor, Conn.) grabbed bronze in the weight throw after tossing over 52 feet (15.98 meters).
On Jan. 26-27, Howard head to Clemson, S.C., for the Bob Pollock Meet, hosted by Clemson University.
