Dom Campbell (Scarborough, Maine) came off the bench to score 18 points to lead four scorers in double figures as Howard rallied from a second-half deficit to pull out an 82-78 win over South Carolina State Monday (Jan. 8) at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Gym.
Graduate forward
Seth Towns (Columbus, Ohio) continues to make a strong bid for Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Year after his second half performance played a huge part in the team's victory. He finished with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists, including 9-of-10 from the charity stripe.

Last March, the Bison prevailed, 74-55, in the MEAC Semifinals and have won two-in-a-row and five-of-the-last-six against their conference rival to hold a 15-10 advantage, dating back to 2006. That last victory (82-73) for the Hawks came on January 9, 2023, in Princess Anne, Md.

The Bison (6-11, 1-1 MEAC) are coming off an 82-78 road win at South Carolina State that snapped a two-game losing streak.
Howard is led by Towns (15.3 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 35 assists, 14 total steals & nine total blocked shots), junior guards
Bryce Harris (15.1 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 18 total blocks & 57-percent shooting from the floor) and
Marcus Dockery (12.6 ppg, 32 total assists & 14 total steals) and Campbell (8.1 ppg & 4.4 rpg).
MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE
Maryland Eastern Shore (4-10, 1-1 MEAC) is coming off a 58-55 loss at Coppin State Monday (Jan. 8) that snapped a two-game win streak.
The Hawks are led junior forward Troy Hupstead (11.7 ppg & 8.8 rpg), junior guard Chace Davis (9.9 ppg & 15 total steals), sophomore guard Damani Ellies (9.7 ppg & 4.4 rpg) and Damani Claxton (3.4 ppg & team-leading 39 total assists).
MEAC NOTES
HOWARD
Howard leads the conference in field goal percentage (46-percent), three-point shooting (36-percent) and three pointers made (7.8 per game).
Individually, Towns leads the conference in three-point shooting (42-percent) and second in three pointers made and rebounding (6.8 rpg).
Harris, a strong candidate for MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, is first in field goal percentage while Dockery leads the league in three-pointers made.

Shy Odom (Roxbury, Mass.) is 10
th in assists.
MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE
The Hawks ranks second in the conference in free throw shooting (75-percent) and third in three-point shooting (33-percent) and three pointers made per game (6.7).
Individually, Hupstead lead the MEAC in rebounding (8.8). Mack Tyler ranks fifth in three pointers made per game (2.0), Chace Davis is eighth in three-point shooting and Claxton is sixth in assists.
BISON NOTES
- Howard has had a challenging nonconference schedule with road games at Georgia Tech (ACC), James Madison (Sun Belt), Rutgers (Big Ten), Penn (Ivy League) and UC Santa Barbara (Big West). They have also hosted Cincinnati (Big 12) and Yale (Ivy League).
- The Bison have started 11 different starting lineups due to injuries.
- Five Howard players have 10 or more steals.
- Harris has been named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week twice and Towns was named MEAC Player of the Week once this season.
- The trio of Towns, Harris and Dockery have combined to carry the Howard offense, averaging 42 points and 16 rebounds between them.
- There will be a pre-game moment of silence for former athletics staff member, George Walker, who recently transitioned.
