NORFOLK, Va. (January 11, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly honors where Howard University junior guard
Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) grabbed the league's Defensive of the Week accolade for the second time this season. The announcement came Wednesday (Jan. 10).
In three games, Harris averaged 19.3 points, 7.0 boards, 3.0 assists and 1.0 blocks. After producing 18 points versus Yale (Jan. 3), the New York native produced a double-double (21 points & 10 rebounds) at North Carolina Central (Jan. 6). In the Monday's (Jan. 8) victory at South Carolina State, he notched 19 points and seven boards against the Bulldogs.
This season, Harris leads the conference with a 57-percent (95-of-166) field goal percentage.
North Carolina Central guard Fred Cleveland, Jr., was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Week while South Carolina State guard Mitchell Taylor took home Rookie of the Week.
Howard returns home to take on the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Saturday (Jan. 13) at 4 p.m., inside Burr Gymnasium.
