WASHINGTON (September 19, 2023) – Howard University men's soccer team tied with crosstown rival George Washington (GW) in a midweek nonconference showdown.
 
Despite GW (2-3-3) outshooting the Bison, 15-7, senior goalie Benjamin Hoesli (Bern, Switzerland) kept George Washington off the board. The Switzerland native deflected four shots in the stalemate.
 
Overall, six Bison took a shot attempt, led by DMV native senior midfielder Peter Gansallo (Bowie, Md.) with two tries.
 
On the afternoon, the physical bout saw 35 fouls and six yellow cards.
 
Howard's long road trip continues to Teaneck, N.J., when they take on Fairleigh Dickinson in its conference opener. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. on NEC Front Row.
