Bison Battle Towson in First Road Test of the Season

Women's Soccer squares off against another talented CAA opponent

WASHINGTON (August 18, 2023) – Howard University women's soccer team travels north to battle Towson (TU) in a nonconference Sunday night showdown. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

HU (0-0-1) looks to get into the win column for the first time this season. Howard seeks to avenge a tough 1-0 loss versus Towson a year ago inside Greene Stadium.
 
Before the year, the Bison were predicted to finish seventh in the Northeast Conference.
 
TOWSON
 
Towson (1-0) enters Sunday's clash with an opening night victory over La Salle, 2-1.
 
Before the season, the Tigers were projected to finish fourth in the league after tallying 112 points (one first-place vote). TU are led by 2023 Preseason All-CAA honorees Nia Christopher and Riley Melendez.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
Thursday (Aug. 17), HU opened the 2023 campaign in a stalemate against Elon, 3-3, at Greene Stadium.
 
Senior Marli Berry (Orangevale, Calif.) and junior Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.) each scored in the stalemate against Phoenix.
