AUSTIN, Texas (June 9, 2023) – Howard University hurdlers
Jessica Wright (Durham, N.C.) and
Darci Khan (Stockbridge, Ga.) saw their respective runs come to an end at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held on the campus of the University of Austin.
Khan opened the night for HU, competing in the 100-meter hurdles semifinal round where she fell just short of advancing with a 13.20 time.
Wright, two-time All-American and one of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, took part in the 400-meter hurdles semifinal. The Tar Heel native came up short of making it back to the final, producing a 56.75 mark.
Despite the outcome, both Bison earned All-American honors.
HU's 4x400 relay squad competed in Thursday's semifinal round but were disqualified post-race.
Howard Director of Track & Field
David Oliver and the Bison wrapped up its historic season, winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Triple Crown in cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field for the first time in school history.
HU looks to defend all three crowns for the upcoming 2023-24 campaign.
