DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 24, 2023) – After two rounds, the Howard University women's golf team holds fourth place in the Northeast Conference Championships, held at LPGA International (par-72, 6,117 yards).
HU shot 16-over par (304) on the day, eight strokes better than round one. After two days, the Bison are 40-over par (616) with one round remaining.
Second-year Bison
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) led the Bison, shooting 1-over par (73) in two rounds, including a pair of birdies in the front nine. Currently, the Texas native sits tied for 18
th in the player leaderboard.
Rookie
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) showed consistency throughout the afternoon. After shooting 2-over par (38) in the front nine, she finished even par (36) in the final nine holes.
Horrell and sophomore
Jada Richardson (Suwanee, Ga.) are tied for seventh overall (153, +9) while graduate
Kyra Cox (South Salem, N.Y.) is tied for 10
th place (154, +10).
Sacred Heart (SHU) leads the pack after shooting 9-over par (297) in round two. Delaware State (DSU) moved up two slots and sits three strokes behind the Pioneers (603, +27).
Individually, SHU's Chantal El Chaib remains atop the player leaderboard (143, -1), but DSU's Anna Ferreyra-Heit is only one stroke back with 18 holes left.
The action concludes Tuesday (April 25) with the third round, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
