BALTIMORE (April 20, 2023) – Howard University women's tennis team topped rival Morgan State (MSU) in Baltimore, 4-3, at MSU Tennis Courts.
 
With the win, HU closes out the regular season 7-10 overall (4-2 MEAC).
 
Howard took the early match lead, winning two-out-of-three in doubles play.
 
Sophomores 
Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and 
Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) led the way, serving as the club's No. 2 doubles team and defeating MSU's Lauryn Hall and Averiana Mitchell, 6-1.
 
In singles competition, Grayson, senior 
Emnet Simunyola (Lorton, Va.) and rookie 
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) won their respective matches in straight sets.
 
Butcher and fellow classmate 
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) battled, but fell in three sets, respectively.
 
On April 27-29, Howard returns to Cary, N.C., for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships.
