DOVER, Del. (April 2, 2023) – Howard University women's tennis team outlasted Delaware State (DSU), 4-3, in an intense Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown in Dover, Del.
With the win, HU (5-9, 2-2 MEAC) extended its win streak to a season-best three games while giving the Lady Hornets their first home loss (4-1) and conference setback of the season (3-1).
Howard took an early match lead, 1-0, after winning two doubles matches. Sophomore
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) and rookie
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) served as the club's top doubles team, defeating DSU's Daria Jula and Klaudija Lisovska, 6-3.

Emnet Simunyola (Lorton, Va.) picked up big singles wins to down the Lady Hornets.
Sophomores
Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and
Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) won their doubles match, 7-6, but fell in their respective singles contests in three sets.
On April 7, both teams square off against MEAC rival Morgan State in Baltimore. Match time starts at 4 p.m.
