DAVIS, Calif. (March 7, 2023) – Howard University women's lacrosse team opened its spring break rodeo with a loss at UC Davis, 19-1.
With the setback, HU dropped to 0-5 overall while UC Davis moved to 2-1 on the season.
UC Davis outshot Howard in the opening period, 16-3, and took a 6-1 advantage after one. Senior midfielder
Quai Skeete-Ridley (New Carrolton, Md.) scored an unassisted goal for the Bison.
In the second, UC Davis produced seven goals and held a 13-1 lead at the break.
After intermission, the Aggies tallied six more goals and cruised to victory.
Skeete-Ridley finished the day with four ground balls, two caused turnovers and a goal.
In the cage, sophomore
Anya Waller (King of Prussia, Pa.) racked up four saves in the loss.
For UC Davis, Grace Gebhardt and Annie Cimperman registered five points in the win.
Thursday (March 9), Howard continues its spring break trip in Berkeley, Calif., against Pac-12 foe California. Match time is set for 7 p.m. (ET)/4 p.m. (PT).
