BOSTON (March 5, 2023) – Howard University men's track & field team earned third place at the IC4A Indoor Championships, scoring 40 points during the two-day (March 4-5) event.
Senior
Jermanie Byrd (Miami Gardens, Fla.) led the Bison, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.34.

Zachary Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) and fellow classmates
Darian Clyburn (Louisville) and
Kameron Davis (Miami), reached the 60-meter hurdles final, clocking in at 7.89 (3
rd), 8.00 (4
th), 8.10 (6
th) and 8.14 (7
th), respectively.
In the field events, sophomore jumpers
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) and
Eric Brown, Jr. (Raleigh, N.C.) took part in the triple jump where they placed second (15.23 meters) and eighth (14.57 meters), respectively.
Second-year Bison
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) also tallied points for HU, competing in the triple jump (6
th/14.66 meters) and long jump (7
th/6.94 meters).
Providence won the 2023 IC4A Championship with 70 points, holding off in-state rival Rhode Island (54.5 points).
HU focuses its attention to the outdoor season, set to start in Charlotte, N.C., at the 49er Classic (March 16-18).
