WASHINGTON (February 18, 2023) – Two-time All-MEAC selection
Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.) led the Howard University men's tennis team with a singles victory, but it was not enough as HU fell to Bucknell, 4-1, at the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's (WTEF) East Capitol Campus in Southeast D.C.
With the loss, Howard dropped to 1-4 overall while Bucknell moved to 3-4 on the season.
Cadeau defeated Bucknell's Harrison Gold in straight sets (6-1, 7-6 [7-4]).
Bucknell won the other three singles matches in straight sets.
In doubles, the New Jersey teamed up with two-time Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week sophomore
Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.), but came up short against Bucknell's top doubles team of Gold and Brendan McDonald, 6-3.
Bucknell won another doubles match to end the day.
Sunday (Feb. 19), HU has a quick turnaround when they host Mount St. Mary's. Match time is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the WTEF East Capitol Campus in Southeast D.C.
