NORFOLK, Va. (December 14, 2023) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its men's and women's track & field weekly honors where Howard University had a pair of Bison acknowledged for their efforts in South Carolina. The announcement came Thursday.
Howard graduate
Ja'Leak Perry (Atlanta) and senior
Darci Khan (Stockbridge, Ga.) claimed the MEAC Men's and Women's Track Athletes of the Week.
At the Clemson Opener (Dec. 8), Perry took third overall in the 200-meter dash with a 21.56 mark. For his efforts, he ranks 11
th in the country.
For Khan, the Georgia native finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.37) at the Clemson Opener. Her performance tops the league and sits 13
th in the nation.
Graduate
Nyagoa Bayak (Westbrook, Mass.) and third-year Bison
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) received honorable mention.
North Carolina Central sophomore Lamont Victoria was named MEAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week while Morgan State senior Tia Jackson earned Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
On Jan. 12-13, HU returns after the New Year in Louisville, Ky., for the Rod McCravy Invitational, hosted by the University of Kentucky.
