WASHINGTON (December 13, 2023) - The Howard University men's basketball team rolled to an 88-49 win over Regent University in a nonconference game at Burr Gymnasium.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Bison.
The Royals (0-8) took an early 7-6 lead before Howard Head Coach
Kenneth Blakeney sat down the starting five and the reserves proceeded to run off a 9-2 spurt. The starters reentered the game and it was never in doubt as Howard (4-6) never looked back.
All 16 players who dressed got in on the action.
Graduate forward
Seth Towns (Columbus, Ohio) recorded 11 points, six assists and five rebounds in 17 minutes of play.
Junior guard
Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) also scored 11 points to equal Towns while graduate guard
Isiah Warfield (Monaca, Pa.) and sophomore reserve forward
Dom Campbell (Scarborough, Maine) each added 10 points in the victory.
The Bison held a 47-24 advantage on the boards against the shorter Royals while shooting 57-percent from the floor.
Regent was led by Darrin Clark, who led all scorers with 14 points and Joakim Marie-Joseph contributed 13 points in a losing effort.
NEXT UP: Howard goes back on the road and will play Jackson State (JSU) and Texas Southern Sunday (Dec. 17) in the Chris Paul HBCU Classic in Las Vegas. HU battles JSU at midnight (ET) / 9 p.m. (PT) while the Bison take on Texas Southern at 6 p.m. (ET) / 3 p.m. (PT).
