HARRISONBURG, Va. (November 12, 2023) – Howard University men's basketball team wrapped up its brief two-game road swing with a 107-86 loss at James Madison (JMU).
Junior
Marcus Dockery (Washington) led all Bison in scoring with 21 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the floor.
With less than 10 minutes left before intermission, Dockery drilled a fast break trey ball and gave the Bison a four-point advantage, 26-22.
JMU took control from that point on, shooting nearly 58-percent (19-of-33) in the first period. James Madison held a 19-point lead at the break after eclipsing 50-percent (8-of-16) from downtown.
After halftime, the Dukes opened with a quick 5-0 run and forced HU to use a timeout.
James Madison kept the pressure on, extending its lead as much as 30 with less than 11 minutes left.
Howard battled to the end, but the Dukes would not be denied.

Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) recorded 15 points while DMV native graduate
Jordan Hairston (Fairfax, Va.) added 16 points off the bench, including a perfect 12-of-12 from the charity stripe.
For JMU, they remain unbeaten on the young season (3-0). Six Dukes reached double figures, led by Julien Wooden with a game-high 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
Howard returns to The Burr Tuesday (Nov. 14) when they host Boston University. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
