LEXINGTON, Va. (November 11, 2023) – Howard University women's swimming & diving team set multiple facility records while taking down VMI in a quad meet, hosted by the Keydets.
 
HU dominated VMI, 191-92, while setting four new benchmarks.
 
Senior Isabella Fountain (White Plains, N.Y.), junior Zaylie-Elizabeth Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas), sophomore Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) and rookie Chanice Posada (Houston) competed in the 200 Medley Relay race, winning the event with a new facility record (1:46.44).
 
Nwaeze, Posada and Spears each set new individual pool records, earning first place in the 100 Fly (57.27), 100 Back (57.93) and 100 Breast (1:06.06), respectively. The Chicago also finished runner-up in the 200 Breast (2:24.22) and 200 IM (2:10.93).
 
Other notable performances included Fountain and fellow classmate Alana Josey (York, Pa.) taking silver in the 50 Free (24.21) and 200 Fly (2:11.54), respectively.
 
Howard also competed against UMBC and UNC-Ashville, falling to both programs, 172-125, and 202-95, respectively.
 
On Dec. 1-2, HU travels to Baltimore for the annual H2ounds Invitational, hosted by the Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds.
