WASHINGTON (October 7, 2023) – Howard University women's soccer team begins a brief two-match road trip Sunday (Oct. 8) at Sacred Heart (SHU). Match time is slated for noon in Fairfield, Conn.

HOWARD
HU (8-3-2, 3-1-1 NEC) looks to get back in the win column after a week off. Entering Sunday's showdown, Howard sits in third place behind Central Connecticut State (CCSU) and Merrimack.
Junior forward
Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.) and senior midfielder
Nyla Allen (Elmont, N.Y.) spearhead the Bison attack, combining for 15 goals on the season.
Rookie
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) has an .828 save percentage, which ranks second in the league.
SACRED HEART
For SHU (3-6-4, 2-2-1 NEC), they looking to move up the Northeast Conference standings. After Thursday's stalemate at CCSU, 1-1, Sacred Heart holds the final slot (No. 6).
Grace O'Hara leads the squad with six total goals, which is tied for third in the league. Defensively, Kyran Thievon has the highest save percentage in the NEC at .833.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Oct. 1, HU notched its second stalemate of the season with a 1-1 draw against Stonehill College.

Asia Mickens-Perez (Upper Marlboro, Md.) scored the lone goal for Howard.
