WASHINGTON (October 22, 2023) – Howard University men's soccer team picked up its second straight win, blanking Le Moyne, 2-0, at Greene Stadium.
 
With the victory, HU grabbed its first conference win of the season.
 
Despite being outshot, 9-6, Howard capitalized on its opportunities.
 
At the 32-minute mark, third-year Bison Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.) recorded his fourth goal of the season and gave HU a 1-0 halftime advantage.
 
Moments after intermission, D.C. native sophomore Christian Rufael added an insurance goal, thanks to assists from graduate Roy Henderson (Fredericksburg, Va.) and senior Jackson Lewis (Alexandria, Va.), 2-0.
 
Senior goalie Benjamin Hoesli (Bern, Switzerland) earned his first shutout victory of the season while tallying three saves.
 
Throughout the day, head coach Phillip Gyau, the men's soccer program and the Howard Department of Athletics recognized and honored fallen Bison Bancroft Gordon with tributes before, during and postgame.
 
Tuesday (Oct. 24), HU goes to Durham, N.C., to battle nationally ranked Duke. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
