MATCHUP PREVIEW
HOWARD
HU (7-11, 3-2 MEAC) looks to snap its two-match skid and build momentum into the second half of the season.
Reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Year
Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.) spearheads the Bison attack with a conference-leading 3.76 kills per set.
Fifth-year setter
Kayla Diaz (Rockland, N.Y.) is the engine to Howard's offense, producing 9.03 assists per set (2
nd in the MEAC).
Currently, HU is fourth in the MEAC standings with eight league matches remaining, including two versus Morgan State.
NORFOLK STATE
NSU (5-7, 4-1 MEAC) looks to rebound after suffering its first MEAC loss versus Coppin State (Oct. 6), 3-0.
Gabrielle Gilbert and Shonte Seale provide the 1-2 punch, ranking fourth (3.37) and fifth (3.16), respectively, in kills per set.
Sydney McCree orchestrates the offense with 8.35 assists per set, which is third in the league.
LAST TIMEOUT
Tuesday (Oct. 10), the Bison dropped its nonconference bout to Big South Champion High Point (HPU) in four sets (17-25, 25-20, 13-25, 11-25) at Burr Gymnasium.
Defensively, second-year Bison
Claire Simpson (Plainfield, Ill.) racked up 20 digs in a losing effort.
