PITTSBURGH (September 5, 2022) – No. 2 Pitt Panthers scored four times after intermission to down the Howard University men's soccer team, 5-0, at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
With the loss, HU dropped to 0-3 while the Panthers moved to 3-1 overall.
Despite being outshot, 29-3, HU hung tough throughout the first period.
With halftime approaching, Pitt's Josh Luchini found Jacquesson Bertin and put the Panthers ahead at the break, 1-0.
After intermission, Pitt scored a pair of goals within a five-minute span and extended the lead, 3-0.
At the 77-minute mark, Mathys Lefebvre ballooned the margin to four, 4-0.
With less than five minutes remaining, Leonardo Andrade added an insurance goal for the Panthers.

JR Gawel (St. Mary's, Md.) produced seven saves in the loss.
Saturday (Sept. 10), Howard closes out its road swing with another trip to Pittsburgh, squaring off against Dusquene. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
