WASHINGTON (August 30, 2022) – Howard University men's soccer team fell short to Monmouth (MU), 2-0, at Greene Stadium.
With the loss, HU dropped to 0-2 while the Hawks moved to 2-0 on the young season.
At the 11-minute mark, Monmouth's Luke McBeth scored on a penalty kick and put the Hawks ahead, 1-0, at halftime.
Monmouth stayded on the attack after intermission, taking seven second half shots, but Howard kept MU at bay for most of the period.
With less than seven minutes remaining, Jonas Lyshoj found Kristian Loenvig for the Hawks' second goal on the night.

Mason Christian (Fulton, Md.) and sophomore
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.) took three shots apiece while freshman goalkeeper
JR Gawel (St. Mary's, Md.) registered three saves in the loss.
On Labor Day (Sept. 5), Howard travels to Pittsburgh to face the Pitt Panthers. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
