FARMVILLE, Va. (August 29, 2022) – Longwood scored a pair of goals in 21 seconds to defeat the Howard University women's soccer team, 2-0, in Farmville, Va.
 
With the setback, HU dropped to 0-3-1 while the Lancers moved to 3-1 on the young season.
 
Just over three minutes into the contest, Longwood's Kiersten Yuhas scored and put the Lancers ahead, 1-0.
 
Moments later, Savannah Noll recorded an unassisted goal and extended the Lancers advantage, 2-0.
 
The two early goals would be the difference in Monday's match.
 
Offensively, the Bison took 12 shots, led by sophomore forward 
Kyra Bolden (McLean, Va.) with four attempts (two on goal). Fellow classmate 
Melea Earley (La Miranda, Calif.) registered a pair of shots in the loss.
 
Junior goalkeeper 
Kennedy Jones (Flossmoor, Ill.) racked up five saves in a losing effort.
 
Thursday (Sept. 1), HU returns home to face Robert Morris in a nonconference showdown. Match time is slated for 7 p.m. at Greene Stadium.
