WASHINGTON (August 25, 2022) – Howard University men's soccer team fell in the season opener against Marist, 2-0, at Greene Stadium.
Marist (1-0) controlled the tempo while limiting the Bison to only three shots during the contest, all in the first half.
At the 36-minute mark, Marist's Andre Cutler-DeJesus scored on an unassisted goal and put the Red Foxes ahead before intermission, 1-0.
Marist extended its advantage, thanks to an unassisted goal by Henrique Cruz, 2-0.
Newcomer
JR Gawel (St. Mary's, Md.) had a match-high four saves in the loss.
On August 30, Howard hosts Monmouth in a nonconference contest. Match time is slated for 7 p.m. at Greene Stadium.
