EUGENE, Ore. (June 24, 2022) – Howard University senior
Jessica Wright (Durham, N.C.) saw her run come to an end at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore.
The All-American came up short in the 400-meter hurdles semifinal round, clocking in at 57.09 (11
th overall).
Olympic Medalist Sydney McLaughlin won the heat with a blazing 52.90 mark, nearly three seconds faster than fellow Wildcat Masai Russell (55.02).
Wright is set to return for the upcoming 2022-23 campaign, looking to build on this year's success.
At the U20 level, rising sophomore
Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.) competed in the 100-meter dash where she fell just short of reaching the next round. The DMV native produced an 11.65 mark, which finished 14
th overall.
Pittman's run continues Saturday (June 25) in the 200-meter dash. The first round starts at 6:24 p.m. (ET)/3:24 p.m. (PT)., followed by the final round later that time at 8:29 p.m. (ET)/5:29 p.m. (PT).
