NEW ORLEANS (June 13, 2022) – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) revealed its 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field All-America honors where Howard University had four Bison recognized for their outstanding performances at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. The announcement came Monday (June 13).
The 4x400 relay squad of seniors
Jessika Gbai (Philadelphia),
Ameenah Saalih (Willingboro, N.J.),
Ozioma Scott (Georgetown, Guyana) and
Jessica Wright (Durham, N.C.) earned First Team All-America honors after placing sixth overall with a new school and conference mark (3:28.39).
Student-athletes earned First-Team All-America status by finishing among the top-8 of their respective events, including relay members, at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Individually, Wright and Gbai each received Second-Team All-America recognition after finishing ninth (58.12) and 12
th (22.82), respectively, in the 400-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash.
Second-Team All-America honors went to those student-athletes who finished between ninth and 16th place in their respective races.

David Oliver and the Bison swept the conference indoor-outdoor titles for the first time in program history. The women's program looks to build on this year's success as they look to repeat as Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor champions.
