ROCKVILLE, Md. (March 8, 2022) – Howard University men's tennis team fell to crosstown rival Georgetown (GU), 4-0, at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md.
With the loss, HU dropped to 1-4 overall while the Hoyas moved to 4-6 on the season.
After winning a pair of doubles matches by identical scores, 6-2, the Hoyas secured three victories singles play.
Reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week sophomore
Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.) served as the club's No. 1 singles player where he took set one against GU's Adhvyte Sharma, 7-6, but the match was unfinished due to the Hoyas clinching wins in other singles contests.
Like Cadeau, newcomer
Marcel Dawson (Midland, Ga.) also led his match versus Georgetown's Akira Morgenstern, 7-6, but unable to finish.
Howard returns to action after Spring Break (March 17-19) for the MEAC Round Up in Cary, N.C. The squad will play three conference matches versus North Carolina Central (March 17), Norfolk State (March 18) and South Carolina State (March 19).
